The gallery at The Harwood Hill Bennington tells two stories at once. Outside, the property looks toward Mount Anthony, the Bennington Battle Monument, and broader Green Mountain scenery from more than four acres of open grounds. Lawns, an apple orchard, outdoor furniture, picnic spaces, a gazebo, grills, and a fire pit give the motel a park-like character rather than the tight parking-lot feel associated with many roadside properties.
Inside, art becomes the recurring theme. Guest rooms display work connected to Bennington and New England artists, and seasonal artist-in-residence activity gives the property an identity that goes beyond decoration. Rooms vary in layout and appearance, so the gallery naturally shifts between economy accommodations, larger deluxe rooms, and cottage-style spaces.
